Manufacturing
Neucor employs a low fixed cost, lean variable-cost operating methodology to provide a well priced product while being competitive in the marketplace. The production of Neucor cores (neucor™) utilizes wood byproducts as our core raw material. Our White Swan facility is located in very close proximity (less than one mile) to the Yakama Forest Products Sawmill. The company believes that a long term relationship with the sawmill will sustain low priced access to raw materials. In addition, there are other suppliers that are interested in supplying materials to Neucor – creating a competitive environment with excellent pricing and supply chain redundancies.
Neucor acquired and re-started a plant operation previously owned by Jeld-Wen which was closed in 2009. While significant time has passed, the company has purchased new equipment and updated software and control systems. The company has re-hired two key former Jeld-Wen employees responsible for plant operations and plant maintenance, Will Savage and Chuck Clark, as well as Ed Surdyk, who possesses 35 years experience in technical and operating aspects of the industry. The Company will continue to recruit, to the extent available, former top performing Jeld-Wen plant workers as it launches plant operations.
